SVPISTM, Coimbatore to offer B.Sc, MBA programme in Textiles, Apparel and Retail Management
5/6/16 Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel International School of Textiles and Management (SVPISTM), Coimbatore will now offer a three-year B. Sc. Textiles programme and an MBA programme in Textiles, Apparel and Retail Management.
This has been made possible due to an initiative by SVPISTM and Central University of Tamil Nadu to collaborate in the domain of textiles and management education, an official press release said here today.
A memorandum of understanding was signed between the two institutions at Ministry of Textiles in Udyog Bhavan here today in the presence of the Union Textiles Minister Santosh Kumar Gangwar.
The eligibility for the undergraduate course is a pass in 12th standard with a minimum score of 65% with Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics as subjects. The students will be selected through the Central University Common Entrance Exam (CUCET). About 700 applications have been received for the 40 seats this year.
The CUCET will be held on May 21. The B. Sc. programme contains theory and practical courses spanning the entire textile range from fibre to fashion.
